MBLAQ’s Lee Joon attends press screening of James McTeigue’s ‘The Raven’

On July 2nd, MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon attended the press screening for the film ‘The Raven‘ in support of director James McTeigue.

Lee Joon’s relationship to McTeigue dates back to his previous film, ‘Ninja Assassin‘, in which Lee Joon starred as the younger role of Rain. Lee Joon received a few questions of his own at the event, one of which asked, “If you could play a role in the movie, which would you choose between the novelist, detective, or murderer?”

He replied, “I think the novelist is an amazing and charming character, but I’d actually like to try acting out the role of a murderer. It’s not a role that you can express outwardly since the interpretation is ultimately up to you. I think it’d be an interesting experience to play a strong, psychopathic character such as the murderer.”

On his most memorable scene in the film, he revealed, “I like the first and last scenes where the leading character appears at the park. I wondered what Edgar Allen Poe was feeling when he was sitting on the bench, waiting for death.”

The event went on to show a special video message McTeigue had left for both Lee Joon and Rain. Lee Joon responded to the video by concluding, “I think the director’s gotten a lot cuter compared to the past. While working with him, I felt that there was an innocent side to him so it’s surprising as to how he can make a scary film such as ‘The Raven’. The entire time I was watching it, the contents of the film just felt so realistic that I couldn’t help but feel scared even though I knew it wasn’t real.”
