INFINITE members help celebrate Sungyeol’s birthday on Twitter

INFINITE members helped celebrate Sungyeol’s 22nd (Korean age) birthday, which was on August 27^th. The members didn’t hide their affections towards Sungyeol as they joked around, clearly showing their brotherly affections for him.

The Twitter mentions displayed the close-knit relationship that the INFINITE members share, which fans have been able to observe through variety shows such as ‘Weekly Idol’ and ‘INFINITE’s Ranking King’.

L tweeted, “Happy birthday Lee Sungyeol.” Then also wrote another message as Sungyeol’s birthday came to an end, writing, “Your Birthday is over, there’s 364 days left now hahahaha.” When Sungyeol responded to L’s tweet, Dalmatian’s Daniel brought further laughs as he commented, “No dating on Twitter….”

Woohyun, on the other hand, shared the above picture of Sungyeol while writing, “Happy birthday Sungyeol. The side view of you sleeping is like a sculpture…. oh and.. you’re not a ruined character don’t worry ㅠㅠㅠ I love you forever, forever. I love Inspirits too =_=!!” Hoya chimed in, “I was the first person to tell Sungyeol happy birthday when it turned 12 am but!! (now) it’s 30 minutes before his birthday is over! I wish you happy birthday again~! Thank you for being born Roi haha.” And in response to all the birthday mentions and comments, the birthday boy tweeted, “Thank you everyone for wishing me a happy birthday♥ It’s already been my third birthday after our debut. INFINITE’s Sungjong leaves a birthday message for Sungyeol

INFINITE’s Sungyeol is celebrating his 22nd birthday (Korean age)!

To celebrate the occasion, maknae Sungjong was the first member to wish Sungyeol a happy birthday via twitter as he left an aegyo-filled message that read, “To our strong Sungyeol hyung~! Happy birthday! >< Enjoy your birthday to the fullest~! ^^.”

Fans and netizens flooded the Twitter timeline with birthday tweets to Sungyeol like, “Happy birthday Sungyeol!“, “Happy birthday! You are a true inspiration”, “I hope you have a wonderful birthday”, “Eat a lot of delicious food!”, and more.

‘Reply 1997′ releases adorable behind the scene still cuts

Several behind the scene cuts from drama ‘Reply 1997’ were released on August 26th, featuring new sides of the actors on set.

The first cut is of A Pink’s Eunji sporting bangs and a cute pair of glasses to represent her middle-school self in the show. Netizens dubbed the picture ‘Pororo Eunji’, as she looks like the adorable cartoon character, a blue penguin who wears a yellow helmet.

INFINITE’s Hoya stole the hearts of fans in another unreleased still cut, in which he is holding a stick of ‘ddukbokki’, a popular Korean snack, and a carton of banana milk. Fans and netizens commented that the picture looks like a ‘ddukbokki’ advertisement.

The actors showed off how close they are in the final still cut. Eunji is feeding fellow actor Lee Si Uhn a carton of banana milk as they whisper to each other and share ramen noodles.

Netizens commented, “‘Pororo Eunji’ is just so cute. She could star in the Pororo musical”, “Even with those hilarious glasses, Eunji still looks cute”, “Hoya is giving me the ‘ddukbokki’~ I’m so happy I could cry”, “Hoya’s ‘ddukbokki’ picture is awesome”, and “The relationship between Eunji and Lee Si Uhn is unexpected but they look good”.

Fans of INFINITE’s Woohyun recently decided to carry out another thoughtful act in the artist’s name by treating the ‘The Thousandth Man’ staff members to lunch.

Kim Seon Ho, who is said to be one of INFINITE’s newer managers, posted the above photo with the tweet, “The polite actor-hopeful ‘Namu’ during the filming of ‘The Thousandth Man’ Thank you ^^”.

The picture revealed Woohyun courteously bowing towards the camera, standing in front of a sign that read, “Everyone!! Woohyun’s treating you to a food truck~~ Hurry along and eat~~ Spokesman: Nam Woohyun, Helper: Hee Ji Eun! Namu Protectors. ‘The Thousandth Man’ fighting.”

INFINITE’s Woohyun & T-ara’s Hyomin display their abs on MBC’s ‘The Thousandth Man’

T-ara’s Hyomin and INFINITE’s Woohyun displayed their sexy abs on a recent episode of MBC ‘The Thousandth Man’.

Goo Mimo (played by Hyomin) engaged in a conversation with Woohyun who was playing basketball outside her window. When Woohyun lifted up his shirt slightly, Hyomin coyly asked Woohyun to “Show a bit more.” Woohyun then jokingly criticized, “Why don’t you show me too, then.”

Hyomin didn’t hesitate to lift up her shirt revealing her slim, yet toned abs. Woohyun also revealed his chiseled body, but as their shirts lifted higher and higher, Woohyun laughed as he stated, “I lost,” admitting his defeat.

The viewers complimented the idols for perfecting a rather revealing scene proving the skills of idol-actors and actresses.

INFINITE’s L being considered for a role in new sitcom

With L turning down his casting offer for ‘To the Beautiful You’ due to INFINITE’s overseas promotions earlier on this year, many fans were left wondering if they were going to be able to see the idol return to acting once again. It seems the opportunity may have come faster than expected for it has been reported that L is one of the potential candidates for one of the roles in an upcoming sitcom!

According to broadcast representatives, L is being considered for a role in MBC’s new daily sitcom ‘What Is Mom’ (temporary title).

L’s latest acting challenge was through tvN’s “Shut Up Flower Boy Band”, in which he took on the role of guitarist Lee Hyun Soo and earned much love from fans.

Others being considered for various roles in the new sitcom include comedian Kim Byung Man, ‘Birth of a Great Star 2’s Koo Ja Myung, and Na Moon Hee.

The new sitcom will air on October 8th with the conclusion of ‘Stand By’.

INFINITE holds an awards ceremony on ‘Ranking King’

Boy group INFINITE held their very own awards ceremony- the ‘2012 INFINITE Ranking King Awards’, to mark the end of their 3-month reality show, Mnet’s “INFINITE’s Ranking King”.

For the last 85 days, ‘Ranking King’ featured episodes in which the INFINITE members would compete for a ‘king’ title each week, including the ‘Likeable King’, ‘Brain King’, ‘Athletic King’, ‘Knowledge King’, ‘Energy (Energetic) King’, ‘Courage King’, and ‘Lucky King’.

The boys wrapped up the season by holding an award ceremony which also featured the best 3 moments of the show, determined by votes placed by netizens and viewers. The boys were also awarded under several different categories based on their performance on the program, such as the ‘Action King Award’, ‘Popular Phrase Award’, ‘Ruined Character Award’, and many others.

The episode also finally gave member Woohyun, who had shown a strong interest in being an MC throughout the entire season, the chance to work as the main MC, receiving much love and attention from fans. He earned the nickname ‘NamMC’, the budding MC of the industry, showing his enthusiasm for hosting.

Producers from Mnet stated, “Today’s broadcast allowed the INFINITE members to completely well organize the variety show talents and energy they displayed on Ranking King, as well as feature the highlights and a few behind-the-scene cuts from the show. INFINITE really showed off their humor and wit throughout the season – we were impressed”.

INFINITE featured in ‘W Korea’ Magazine

INFINITE’s fashion spread for ‘W Korea’ has been revealed!

During the photo shoot held in cooperation with HEAD sports, the members were said to have showcased their charisma by transferring their on-stage masculinity to compliment the dark atmosphere set for the photo shoot.

A staff member on the set revealed that the members kept positive attitudes all throughout the shoot and showed no signs of discomfort even while dressed in clothing from the Fall/Winter collection in the middle of the scorching August weather.

In addition, an editor in charge of the shoot praised INFINITE expressing, “Seeing as they would monitor their photos and listen to critiques after each scene, it made me believe that although being young, their attitudes were no less than those of professionals.”

MBLAQ’s ‘amazon’ dorm scares managers Park Kyung Lim and Kim Sae Rom on ‘Idol Manager’

MBLAQ’s “amazon” dorm will be revealed on the upcoming episode of MBC Every1‘s ‘Idol Manager’.

During filming for the August 31st broadcast, managers Park Kyung Lim and Kim Sae Rom showed fear even before visiting the boys’ dorm. The two managers expressed their shock after meeting the MBLAQ members’ not-so-ordinary, reptilian pets.

G.O. explained, “I’m allergic to [animal fur],” to which Park Kyung Lim replied, “Don’t you yourself have a lot of hair though?”

G.O chosen as the wealthiest out of MBLAQ members

The MBLAQ members revealed where each of the members stand in terms of wealth.

On August 24th while recording for MBC Music‘s hybrid chart show ‘All The K-pop’, the MBLAQ members were featured as guests as they had a segment where they ranked each member in terms of their personal wealth.

It was already widely known that Mir was famous for the large amount of land and real estate owned by his family. However through this show, G.O revealed that his father is a man of considerable wealth and was an owner of a big golf course. In addition to his golf course business, his father had also opened up various leisure businesses such as an arcade, and ski resort but weren’t as successful.

G.O then commented, “Right now, my father has built a house on that land,” and Mir added, “When we visited his house, it was a place with 20 rooms which shocked us.”

And when the emcees asked if it wasn’t a hotel, G.O firmly stated, “No,” and claimed that it was his own house. In the end, G.O placed first out of the MBLAQ members in having the most personal wealth.

B1A4 poses for clothing brand ‘OMPHALOS’

Boy group B1A4 recently completed a photo shoot for casual clothing brand ‘OMPHALOS’. The adorable spread was released on August 30th, showcasing the fresh, cute looks the boys sported.

It was revealed that the photo shoot took place late at night after a full, busy day, but the members still worked their hardest and smiled brightly for the camera.

In related news, B1A4 is currently starring in KBS Joy‘s ‘Hello Baby’ and will be returning to the music scene with a new album later this year.

INFINITE, B1A4, and Supernova rank high on Oricon’s Daily Singles Chart

Korean boy groups have been receiving much attention for consistently ranking high on Japan’s Oricon daily chart. In addition to CNBLUE who ranked #1 with ‘Code Name Blue’ on the Daily Album Chart as mentioned earlier, INFINITE, Supernova, and B1A4 also ranked high on the Daily Singles Chart with their respective releases.

INFINITE placed 3rd with their 3rd Japanese single, “She’s Back”, selling more than 23,000 albums, while Supernova came in right after them in 4th with “She’s Gone”. B1A4 followed in 5th with “Sleep Well, Good Night”.

B1A4′s Jinyoung to make a cameo appearance on ‘The Thousandth Man’

B1A4’s Jinyoung will be making making a special guest appearance on ‘The Thousandth Man’as younger version of Minkyu in college.

Jinyoung took on the role of Minkyu back in the ’80s, who, at the time, had his heart stolen by Mijin (Kang Ye Won), and was an ordinary student with a beautiful dream for his future. However, Minkyu and Mijin parted ways because of a misunderstanding. 27 years later, a matured Minkyu (Cho Duk Hyun) now lives his life without dreams as a lonely father whose family resides overseas.

In order to transform into a college student living in the ’80s, Jinyoung changed his hairstyle and wore thick, large glasses popular during the period.

Despite this being the first time Jinyoung has tried his hand at acting, producers complimented him as he protrayed the feelings of a shy student perfectly.

‘The Thousandth Man’ where Jinyoung makes his cameo is set to air on August 31st.

B1A4 donates 140kg of rice to children in need

B1A4 has donated 140kg (309 lbs) of rice to SOS Children’s Village located in Seoul thanks to fans.

The rice, donated on August 27 KST, was given as a gift to member Sandeul for his appearance in the musical ‘Brothers were Brave’ this past June as well as for the launch of the group’s series “B1A4’s Hello Baby” in July.

The team leader from SOS Children’s Village stated, “We’re now able to offer warm rice to the children. I want to thank B1A4’s fan club.”

In related news, B1A4 will be lending a hand to help revive traditional markets on September 1st.

B1A4 lend their talents to help revive traditional markets

On September 1st, B1A4 will be holding a mini concert at the Wonju Market in an effort to raise awareness for traditional markets.

The event was created as a form of celebrity marketing to help traditional markets sustain themselves in the face of competition with chain supermarkets and local convenience stores. For four hours, the members of B1A4 will be joining locals to open up a one-day shop at the market in addition to shopping around for their own goods.

The members expressed, “This is our first time participating in a talent donation event. The concept is still new to us, but we’re happy and honored that we can use our talents to help others and society. As the point of this event is to help traditional markets thrive, we hope that our efforts will aid in the agenda.”

They continued, “People our age are more used to big supermarkets or local marts so we hope that the youth will also take an interest in traditional supermarkets.”

Lineup for the ‘14th Korea-China Music Festival’ revealed

The lineup for the ‘14th Korea-China Music Festival’, to be held at the Yeosu Expo Digital Gallery on August 25th, has been revealed!

Artists such as Girls’ Generation, KARA, IU, 2PM, Sonya, Kim Tae Woo, Supernova, B1A4, EXO-K, and Rania will represent Korea while Tan Jing, Sa Dingding, Ning Jing, EXO-M, and more will be representing China.

Sonya, who has been receiving a lot of love for her weekly performances on ‘Immortal Song 2‘, will be performing a cover of Boohwal’s hit song “The More I Love”. EXO-K and EXO-M have been sparking interest as well because they’ll each be representing different countries at the music festival.

The concert will air on September 2nd on the Korean network KBS and Chinese network CCTV.

B1A4 members become etiquette instructors on ‘Hello Baby’

B1A4 members have stepped up to teach their babies proper manners.

The upcoming episode of ‘Hello Baby’ will feature B1A4 and the babies visiting an etiquette academy to teach the youngsters proper manners.

Jinyoung shared that “character education” is the most important for the babies, and revealed his determination to teach etiquette to Eunsol and Hyunwoo, who usually speak impolitely and play practical jokes on the B1A4 members. The rest of the members agreed and shared that they would like to teach them “to speak politely, give items with two hands, and not bicker during meals.”

However, a scary teacher waits for the B1A4 at the academy and it seems the members themselves will also be learning a thing or two about etiquette.

In addition, B1A4 will be getting a surprise visit from a ‘one-day mom’. According to the producers, the members reacted enthusiastically upon hearing that the producers will be selecting a mother to visit.

Idol group INFINITE has participated in a recent photo shoot for W Korea magazine, and a BTS (Behind The Scenes) video of the shoot has just been released!

The mischievous boys tossed aside their youthful charms and played up their sporty and more masculine appeals.

INFINITE’s Woohyun reveals his ideal woman on ‘Lord of the Rings’

Woohyun of INFINITE recently revealed his ideal woman on the 20th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Lord of the Rings’.

The new variety program is one in which four male celebrities in their 30s/40s and four male celebrities in their 20s try to steal the hearts of non-celebrity females that guest on the show.

On his limousine ride to meet the female guests, Woohyun stated, “These days dating younger men is the trend”, showing his confidence in front of Tony An, another competitor who joined him on the ride.

Regarding his ideal type, the INFINITE member expressed, “I like a woman who is bright, easy-going, and cheerful. I like women who laugh a lot. I also like women who are older than me. I like that noonas take care of me,” revealing the traits he looks for in a woman.

Woohyun also performed ‘Be Mine’ during the episode, charming the female guests.

INFINITE performs as the K-POP representative at '2012 Summer Sonic’

INFINITE successfully completed their performance at the ‘2012 Summer Sonic’ held in Japan on the 18th and 19th.

The boy group was chosen as the Korean representatives for this year, following the footsteps of Big Bang (2010), and Girls’ Generation (2011).

Having demonstrated their popularity in Japan with the selling out of all of their solo concerts in Japan held last September and February of this year, in addition to ranking at the top of Oricon as well as Tower Records with their Japanese singles, INFINITE was chosen as the representative of K-POP for this year’s ‘Summer Sonic’ festival as an artist to look out for.

Performing alongside artists such as Green Day, Rihanna, and Jamiroquai, INFINITE demanded the attention of the audience showcasing their flawless synchronized choreography. In addition, the boys also performed their 3rd Japanese single “She’s Back” for the first time ever, gaining much love and applause from their Japanese fans.

As previously mentioned, INFINITE drew much attention for holding a surprise fan meeting event through Google+ before the event, spending quality time with a few lucky fans chosen out of the 20,000+ applicants coming from 72 countries all over the world.

INFINITE plans to officially release the Japanese version of their single “She’s Back” on the 29th, followed with an arena tour in October that will draw in 60,000 audience members.

B1A4's Gongchan displays a more mature image with "L Officiel Hommes"

B1A4’s Gongchan has partnered up with “L Officiel Hommes” to show off a new look!

The idol recently adopted a more matured and manly image for the latest pictorial. Casting aside his more gentle and boy-ish look, Gongchan has effectively captured the eyes of fans with his new image.

He was even referred to as the classic icon James Dean, and was praised by the staff on set as he brought out his manly charisma with the slicked up hair and the stronger eyebrows, which emphasized his smoldering gaze.

MBLAQ’s G.O. to return to ‘Immortal Song 2′

After nearly a year since leaving ‘Immortal Song 2’, MBLAQ’s G.O. has decided to return to the music program as a permanent member.

On August 20th, a representative of KBS informed Star News, “G.O. will be returning to ‘Immortal Song 2’. As this is his return to the program after quite a while, we look forward to his more matured stage performance.”

“The singer will be participating in his first recording on the 20th and will replace Ulala Session, who will be making their final performance for the program on the same day.”

G.O. had previously joined ‘Immortal Song 2’ in June of last year, but unfortunately exited the program on September 10th. He later made a special guest appearance on the ‘Immortal Song 2 - Song Chang Shik Special’ in February 2012.

In addition to G.O., 4men’s Shin Yong Jae will also be performing for the first time after temporarily leaving the program on February 25th.

‘Invincible Youth 2′ Lucky Foreign student gets a phone call with INFINITE’s Sunggyu

On the August 18th ‘homestay’ special of KBS2‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2’, the cast members and a special guest danced “Gangnam Style”.

A foreign student named Shelbi is staying in South Korea for a study abroad program joined MCs Lee Young Ja, Kim Shin Young, and Boom as well as the G5 members for the episode.

The guest, who was revealed to be a big fan of K-pop, showed off the choreography to SISTAR’s “Alone”, miss A‘s “Touch”, and even Psy’s “Gangnam Style”, causing the rest of the cast to join in on the dance break.

When they found out the foreign fan was a big fan of INFINITE’s Sunggyu, as a special present Boom let her have a phone call with him.

INFINITE to release 3D movie this September + Trailer

We reported a few weeks ago that boy group INFINITE will be releasing a 3D movie of their ‘Second Invasion’ concert, which took place on April 1st this year.

It has been announced that the movie, ‘INFINITE Concert Second Invasion Evolution The Movie 3D’, will open in theaters on September 6th!

The 3D movie will feature the ‘Second Invasion’ encore concert, filmed with over 30 cameras to help complete the project. The encore concert was opened in April due to the success of INFINITE’s original concert, held this past February, which sold out in just 10 minutes.

Fans can look forward to a high-quality, high-definition movie that will accentuate all of the great qualities the boys have to offer, especially their extremely synchronized choreography and lovely ballad pieces. The movie will also include the individual solo performances that the members prepared for the concert, all in 3D.

Another new addition to the movie that was revealed is a special performance of their song ‘Shot’, as well as the individual ‘auditions’ the boys went through to prepare their solo performances and many other behind-the-scene clips from the concert!

INFINITE holds a Google+ chat event from hotel room with fans

The members of INFINITE recently held a 40-minute long chat event on Google+ with a few lucky fans!

Titled ‘Hangout on Air’, the event took place in their personal hotel rooms in Japan on August 17th 9 PM (KST) and was to commemorate their participation in the Japanese music festival ‘Summer Sonic 2012’.

B1A4 releases Japanese “Sleep Well, Good Night” PV

After earning much attention and praise for their catchy song “Sleep Well, Good Night” in Korea, B1A4 is back with the Japanese PV of their upcoming Japanese single!

Titled “Oyasumi, Good Night“, this is the Japanese version of their Korean hit “Sleep Well, Good Night”. The PV for the track showcases the fresh and adorable charms that these boys pull off so well, so check it out below!

ZE:A’s Kwanghee and SECRET’s Sunhwa not confirmed for ‘We Got Married 3′

It has been announced that previous reports about SECRET’s Sunhwa and ZE:A’s Kwanghee joining the cast of MBC‘s ‘We Got Married 3’ are not set in stone.

Julien Kang and Yoon Se Ah were added to the cast of the show this past 16th, and though Sunhwa and Kwanghee were reported as the next couple to join them, it’s now been announced that nothing has been confirmed.

A representative of ‘We Got Married’ stated, “We’re letting you know the producers’ stance on the reports of new couples. In the midst of Yoon Se Ah and Julien Kang being confirmed for the show, there is now a lot of news that ZE:A’s Kwanghee, SECRET’s Sunhwa, and MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon will be joining the cast.”

“It's true that we're meeting with celebrities from all industries. However, we haven’t decided on which new couple we’ll be adding or how we’ll be matching the couples up… We’ll let you know when it’s been confirmed.”

‘We Got Married’ producers consider MBLAQ’s Lee Joon for new couple line-up

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon has recently been named one of the possible new additions to MBC‘s ‘We Got Married’.

According to industry rumors, Lee Joon has been considered by producers as one of the nominees of the show’s new couple. Representatives of MBC stated on August 17th, “As characteristic of ‘We Got Married’, a lot of celebrities are being named at the moment, and Lee Joon is included in the nominations. But he’s just a nominee and that has nothing to do with whether his casting will be confirmed or not.”

They added that for the time being, they will be going on with their original couples and the newly announced couple. “We will be going on with Lee Jang Woo and Ham Eun Jung, and Leeteuk and Kang Sora as well as the newest addition of Julien Kang and Yoon Se Ah without any departures.”

As Leeteuk is slated to begin his military service this year, that leaves a new opening in the ‘We Got Married’ slot, one that has left fans wondering whether Lee Joon will fill the gap, especially with the news of actress Oh Yeon Seo having already been confirmed as part of a new couple starting in September.

Lee Joon’s agency stated, “There has been nothing confirmed yet, and we have nothing as a company to say further on the matter.”

‘We Got Married’ will begin its broadcast with their newest confirmed couple Julien Kang and Yoon Se Ah on August 18th.

INFINITE’s photo spread for Elle Girl Magazine revealed

Recent photos from INFINITE’s photoshoot with Elle Girl magazine’s September issue have been revealed.

In the group photo, the boys’ group members are sporting windbreaker jackets and tennis shoes, showcasing a casual and sporty look. It was said that the group, who is known for their teamwork, brightened up the studio joking around and chattering amongst themselves.

During the follow up interview, when asked about his particularly excessive display of affection for his fans, member Woohyun confidently stated, “I’m confident that I can be this affectionate and cutesy for INSPIRITs for the rest of my life.”

Furthermore, when the members were asked what kind of gestures they would like to show on stage, Hoya replied “Sexy gestures”, Sungyeol responded, “A heartfelt hand kiss”, while L stated, “I want to make eye contact with each fan.”

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and actress Gong Hyo Jin are up next to guest-feature on popular SBS variety program, ‘Running Man’!

On August 16th, witnesses have spotted actress Gong Hyo Jin interacting with the ‘Running Man’ cast members on set, and photos quickly spread on various SNS (Social Networking Sites).

One netizen uploaded the photos onto an online community forum with the title, ‘It’s a relief to see Gong Hyo Jin looking very bright’. The user was expressing concern over Gong Hyo Jin’s recently announced breakup with actor Ryu Seung Bum, who she was in a relationship with for over 10 years.

In addition to Gong Hyo Jin, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon participated in the shoot to fill in for fixed cast member Gary.

Netizens who heard the news commented, “Highly anticipating this episode!”, “Gong Hyo Jin is so lovable”, “I can’t wait!”, and more.
