Earlier in the week, it was announced that MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon
had been cast in KBS drama, ‘My Daughter Soyoung‘. However, it has been
announced that the earlier statement was false and has been retracted.
The KBS 2TV drama ‘My Daughter Soyoung’ is currently in its
casting stages. Although Lee Joon was among the first selections to be cast as
the female lead’s immature younger brother, he will not be featuring in the new
series after all.
Producer Yun Hyun Ki stated, “Is is true that Lee Joon was
one of the candidates for ‘My Daughter Soyoung’, and we were optimistic about
casting him. However, we came to the conclusion that he would not be cast after
all, and we are currently looking for other actors. We will release an official
statement after the final selection has been made.”
The reason for Lee Joon not being cast was revealed to be
his activities overseas with MBLAQ. The boys are currently performing in Japan,
and have a show coming up in Taiwan as well. It would be difficult for the singer
to make time for the tight filming schedule with all of his overseas
activities.
MBLAQ’s agency J.Tune Camp expressed, “Because Lee Joon is
busy with his overseas schedules, he will unfortunately be unable to appear in
the drama. He plans to devote all of his strength to the remaining performances
of MBLAQ’s Asia Tour.”
